Hi, I'm Daryle. Unlike many Information Technology professionals who focus on a specific technology or sector, my experience is wide and varied. I believe the richness of my background and my diversity gives me great strength in relating to people from different perspectives, solving complex problems without simple linear solutions, and an ability to analyze a situation with a view to finding an optimal approach to solving the problem.

I have a wealth of experience managing systems and projects within the Information Technology industry. I have worked as a consultant for some very large clients. Projects included: converting over $6B in pension funds including financial history, disaster recovery enablement projects for large financial services firms (credit card acquirers and capital market firms with assets in excess of $1 Trillion). I have international experience, having taught Information Technology to Arabic and Asian students in the Persian Gulf. Presently, I am an instructor in Information Technology in Canada. Part of my teaching load involves supervising and managing student teams as they work to solve actual problems and develop robust, effective solutions for real-life clients. I would like to combine my extensive IT and Project Management background with my international and cross-cultural work to help clients in international project management.

• Performed a gap analysis between the Regina Data Center’s reporting standards and the requirements of ISACA’s ITAF standard, section 2600. • Developed an action plan and schedule to address identified compliance gaps. • In response to the H1N1 threat, ssessed CGI’s Regina Data in its pandemic preparedness and redundancy of personnel resources. • Recommended appropriate changes to mitigate risk and ensure minimal disruption of service in the event of a pandemic incident.

Disaster Recovery Phase 2B Design and Implementation • Planned and managed the design, infrastructure implementation and process definitions to backup and recover data and executables for 47 applications. Strategies included: implementing Network Attached Storage, real time replication of Microsoft SQL and Storage Area Networks over large geographic distances, clustering of UNIX and Microsoft Servers into High Availability clusters. • Surveyed, analyzed, and documented the client’s needs and expectations with respect to the costs, benefits and implications of various Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery enablement options for each application. Assisted the client in choosing the best option for their needs. • Managed a geographically remote team of 24 IT professionals from various service delivery areas to implement and document the approved DR enablement option for each application. • Managed capital, labor and other expenses for a project valued in excess of $1.3M USD.

Managed File Transfer (MFT) Implementation • Planned to implement a new Sterling Commerce Gentran Integration Suite system to replace a complex set of FTP servers, application servers and proprietary encryption and file transfer technologies to manage Business-to-Business (B2B) data transfers. • Planned designed, and documented the migration of 75 existing data feeds to the new solution. • Managed complex business relationships • Managed project budget • Managed the risks, issues, changes, personnel, scope and configuration of the project. • Formalized documentation for migrating new and existing data feeds using BPML/BPMN.

• Managed the conversion of two pension systems with over 65,000 members and $4 billion dollars under management from a JEA Penfax to a CPAS system. Conversion of financial history was also included in the project. • Managed a team of up to 7 professionals in performing the conversion on-time, under budget with no errors. • Managed a complex relationship with the vendor of the new system and two clients who were converting their systems concurrently. • Facilitated the development of specifications and documentation for the existing system (Penfax) as well as the transformation rules for data conversion. • Facilitated the development of an automated reconciliation system to test the quality and reliability of the converted data. • Managed the budget, risks, issues, changes, personnel, scope and configuration of the project

Microsoft SQL to Cluster Migration • Coordinated the migration of all existing Microsoft SQL 7.0, SQL 2000 and SQL 2003 databases to one of two 3-node Microsoft Server Clusters running Microsoft SQL 2003 for Russell Investments. • Identified business owners, connecting applications, and other parameters for each database. • Met with business owners to define migration plans, schedules, and checklists to ensure successful migration with minimal impact to business processes. • Scheduled resources including DBA, Business Analyst, User Acceptance, and Helpdesk resources to successfully perform each migration.
